Folkstock update
Further to the post on 31st Aug 2013 Helen has sent this:
We are really excited with our PR – Éamonn Coyne is on the cover of this months’ Folk London, supporting a feature about the festival, apparently we are going to have a whole page inside back cover tomorrow in Music Week.
Also one of our bands on the Alt Folk stage, Boho Dancer, are going to be live on Lauren Laverne’s show on Monday on BBC 6 Radio as I understand. It was the mpfree last week.
We were invited to guest blog on BBC 6 Radio Tom Robinson’s blog, which has the most up to date info and it focuses on the musical aspect and the philosophy behind the festival.
Also, you might be interested to know that one of our headliners, Lucy Ward, entered the Indie album chart this week, at No 28, Lucy Ward, with Single Flame. She was the first prominent musician I approached to perform, on day two of thinking about this, right at the end of January, so it’s really fitting that she is getting such a lot of recognition and really flying the flag for real music.
We might be called Folkstock, but really its just bloody good music, with superb harmonies, insightful lyrics and catching choruses. Performed with Passion, Promoted with Pride
